4 Days Rwanda Safari - Golden Monkey, Dian Fossey Trekking Safari

This 4 days safari will commence and finish at Kigali. This hiking safari will give you the chance to visit the Dian fossey’s grave, golden monkey tracking and bird watching activity.

TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Transfer to Parc National des Volcans
Arrive at the Kigali International Airport. You will meet our safari guide and after a briefing session, transfer to Kigali for a city tour. Visit the genocide memorial museum, the Nyabugogo market, a pottery project, the Moslem quarter in Nyamirambo and the Franco-Rwanda cultural centre. Have lunch and later drive North of Kigali to Parc National des Volcans. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Mountain View Lodge/La Palme Hotel/Kinigi Guest House

Day 2: Golden Monkey Tracking Safari
Have breakfast and be transferred to the park headquarter for golden monkey tracking. This activity gives tourists a pleasure to view the rare species of monkey. The golden monkeys are little known and endangered species. The Monkeys react and interact differently and will keep on playing hide-and-seek much to the delight of the visitor. In the late afternoon, you can decide to carry out the community walks and visit the village projects or local schools. Day 3: Hike to the Dian Fossey’s Grave
After breakfast, you will report to the headquarters for your excursion to slopes of the Bisoke and pay a visit to the former Karisoke Research Centre, where the grave of Dian Fossey is located. This trek involves a 30 minute drive from the park headquarters to the trailhead then 10 minute stroll to the park boundary. From here, it will take you about 3 hours depending on your fitness and how often you stop to enjoy the scenery, while the descent takes 2 hours. This hike will offer you a good opportunity to view birds and other forest creatures of the Virungas en-route. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Mountain View Lodge/La Palme Hotel/Kinigi Guest House

Day 4: Reserved for departure
Have breakfast and later be transferred back to Kigali International Airport to find your departure flight.
