3 Days Akagera Wildlife Safari

3 DAYS AKAGERA WILDLIFE SAFARI
This 3 days (2nights) Akagera wildlife safari starts and finishes in Kigali. You will visit Akagera with its beautiful undulating plains, its woodlands and sprawling lakes and wetlands.  The game in the park is steadily increasing, with elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, crocodile and different antelope beginning to be seen. Akagera has a good selection of savannah birds and raptors, and is rich in water birds including papyrus endemics. On this Safari, you will spend your 2 nights in Akagera Game Lodge.

3DAYS TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival Kigali Airport (Kanombe)
Upon your arrival, you will personally be met by our safari guide who will transfer you to your accommodation in Kigali. (For those arriving earlier, an afternoon excursion can be planned to take a visit around the busy town where they are able to learn the history of the town from the colonial era to democracy, from slums to the suburbs. This tour takes about 4 hours and you can buy souvenirs after tasting Rwanda food in one of the fine restaurants in Kigali. Because we shall be finalizing with the day, you will have your dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge.
Day 2: Kigali – Rusumo Water Falls – Akagera National Park
You will wake up early in the morning in order to set off for Rusumo waterfall and Imigongo traditional handcraft makers. Check in and lunch at Lodge. Afternoon you will game drive and boat riding in Ihema Lake, visit Nyirabiyoro historical island which is home to many crocodiles, hippos and many species of rare birds. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge.

Day 3: Game Viewing Safari
After an early breakfast, start your morning game drive. In the morning, make circuit which takes you to different lakes where you will see buffaloes and elephants drinking from the water ponds among other species of birds like Egyptian goose and fish eager. Have a picnic lunch in the park then continue with the hills game drive. Here you will meet all animals known to be living in a game park: impalas, zebras, bush bucks, water bucks, topis, oribis, baboons, giraffes, cape elands and so many others. This way takes you towards beautiful bushy rolling hills up to the north exit of the park. From here you will drive back to Kigali. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
