4 Days Rwanda Primates in Nyungwe Forest

This 4 days (3nights) safari starts and finishes in Kigali. This safari can also be done as a private safari. This safari can also be done as an extension to Classic Uganda and Rwanda.
Nyungwe, a massive montane forest, in southern Rwanda is the largest in Central Africa and has thirteen species of primate including chimpanzee and large groups of Rwenzori colobus. Tracking is on steep slippery hillsides and viewing is unpredictable. Around 300 bird species, orchids and butterflies are other attractions.
On safari clients stay 3 nights at the basic ORTPN Gisakura Rest house on the western edge of the Nyungwe forest.

4 DAYS SAFARI ITINERARY

Day 1: Kigali Nyungwe Forest
On arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you will be met and greeted by our safari guide who will definitely take you to your respective rooms in the hotel. He will welcome you to Kigali as you refresh for about 5-10 minutes and there after, you will start by driving south for Nyungwe Forest. Drive further southwards and visit the old king’s palace in Nyanza. Drive past green hills of tea and the vast Nyungwe Forest. Check in at ORTPN Gisakura Guest House (FB).

Day 2: Nyungwe Forest
You will wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and then Carryout an escorted nature walk in search of the large groups of colobus – you will see many monkeys in large groups and birds including the Rwenzori turacos. Or go chimp tracking. After that busy activity, you will have picnic lunch and return late afternoon, take a shower, relax with a cup of evening tea then finally overnight at ORTPN Guest House (FB).

Day 3: Primate walks in Nyungwe
After breakfast, you will have a guided nature walk in the forest for go chimpanzee tracking. Since your day will be abit free, you will have enough time to organize your cargo in preparation for the next day’s departure. In the evening, you will relax, some might decide to have a walk around, and then later you will have dinner and overnight at ORTPN Gisakura Guest House (FB).

Day 4: Return to Kigali
Wake up in the morning, have breakfast and return to Kigali. Depending on your time schedule of your flight, you will visit the cultural museum in Butare enroute. Transfer to Kigali or to the airport for your flight back home.
